Season of Change

I have to admit, in the last few years, fall hasn’t had me as excited as it used to. I think it’s because it meant going back to work, and my quality time with Morgan and Brett coming to an end after a sweet two-and-a-half months straight. I wanted to hang onto summer and the memories that went with it. Don’t get me wrong, I love a lot of things about fall – bonfires, warm drinks, football on TV while soup or chili is on the stove, the colorful leaves. But when along with those things comes leaving your emotional + snuggly toddler while you take care of other children all day instead and not seeing your husband as often as you’re used to, it makes you a little less eager.

I am so grateful to say that this year is way different and I was more than ready to welcome fall. That’s because rather than returning to work and leaving [both] my babies, I am able to stay home with them! Saying goodbye to summer doesn’t mean saying goodbye to family time this year and I can enjoy all the fall things with my family on any day and at any time of the day. On a Friday, midday, we went to the cider mill + playground and had the whole place to ourselves. The other morning, the kids and I went on a walk through the park before watching the leaves fall around us while we ate snacks on a quilt. My love of fall is returning and because I get to spend it with Morgan and Kylie, it’ll be the best one yet.

So grateful for fall this year, and even more grateful for this season of life I am in.

Note: Kylie’s dress belonged to me when I was a baby!
