Santa Came Early This Year!

My family planned a trip to Arizona this year for Christmas, so we celebrated Christmas a week early so that Morgan could experience the magic of waking up Christmas morning and seeing gifts under the tree at home!

The weekend before the holiday, we pretended Saturday was Christmas Eve, and so we went that morning to eat at the restaurant Brett and I had our first date at, as we do every year. There was no way I was missing out on the tradition! This was Morgan’s second year joining us for the occasion. He really dug into their famous cinnamon rolls!

Later that day, we headed over to Brett’s family’s house to wait for Santa to arrive. The kids listened to a story and Santa even brought a gift perfect for each of them! I am so grateful that Morgan has his cousins in his life.

Then it was time to go home and get ready for Santa to visit our house that same night. Brett and I are grateful that Morgan is still young enough for us to set up his gifts BEFORE we all go to bed, rather than having to get up in the early hours of the morning to do it!

His absolute favorite gifts were his busy board and his stuffed moon. He is obsessed with all things moon!

The way this year worked out, we had the entire day for our little family Christmas. It is so exciting to think of the years ahead of us that will hold as much magic as they did when we were young, except for instead of experiencing the magic ourselves, we will get to see it through Morgan’s eyes.
