Kylie’s Nursery Reveal

We knew we would be in our last house for a short time after Kylie was born before moving out, so I never did decorate a nursery for Kylie. For the month that she lived there, she shared a room with her mama & daddy and she did the same when we moved in with my parents for a few months.

I daydreamed about every room in the home we were building but at or near the top of the list was Kylie’s room! I knew I wanted it to be sweet + vintage with white, dark woods, and some pink & dark green accents.

Ky’s room has several special items in it which I adore. I have wanted our entire house to contain items with special meaning and this room already has several! I re-used some of the things from Morgan’s old nursery, such as the crib (even the sheets), under-crib basket, rocking chair, velvet curtains, and shelves! The rocking chair that used to be in Morgan’s room and is now in Kylie’s was actually mine when I was little (my sister has one, too)! I recently added the rocking horse to her room which was made by Brett’s dad when Brett was a baby and used to be in M’s room – it was given to him on his first birthday. Morgan loves that it was his daddy’s and has been riding it lately! The most recent special item in Kylie’s room is a doll that my grandma recently gave to me. It is made out of Kylie’s great-great-grandma’s dress and is so adorable!

Another very special part of Kylie’s room is one you can’t see; a verse written above the doorway. I chose one that I hope sticks with her throughout her life… “For it was You who created my inward parts; you knit me together in my mother’s whom. I will praise You because I am remarkably and wondrously made.” Psalm 139:13-14. I hope she always knows how remarkable and wonderful God made her!

On the other side of the door, I chose one of my very favorite verses; “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not rely on your own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5-6

Kylie’s space is one that makes you happy as soon as you walk into it because of all the natural light. A brightly-lit room for a little girl who brightens any room she’s in herself!
