A Thanksgiving to Remember

I hope this Thanksgiving you were full of gratitude and FOOD!

Although I had hoped this Thanksgiving would be somewhat normal (what even IS normal anymore?), it didn’t quite turn out that way. In some ways, it ended up being even more fun than expected, though, so I am not complaining!

Brett and I were able to visit his grandma and grandpa in central Missouri for the day on Wednesday. His aunt and uncle for also there visiting from Florida – the first time I had gotten to meet them since dating Brett!

On Thanksgiving Day, Brett and I headed to his mom’s for lunch. His mom is quite the cook and I left there looking twice as pregnant as I came because of an extremely full belly! After nearly falling asleep on the couch in a food coma, we decided we better go home to get rested up for the rest of the night.

My family was going to cancel our get-together this year because with my sister and me being pregnant, getting Covid is an even greater risk to take. However, someone in my family suggested a bonfire so we could still be together but distance ourselves from one another. Now we are thinking that maybe a bonfire should be a new family holiday tradition!

Family, food, + sitting by the fire is a recipe for a good time. We sat out there for hours!

I am still enjoying my 5-day Thanksgiving Break from school by relaxing in the living room with Brett and our dogs and watching Making a Murderer. Tomorrow is my last day of break before heading back to the classroom and my plans are to plan for the rest of this coming week and complete my classroom book nook! Oh, and laundry…

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
