3 Weeks w/ Kylie

Today marks 3 weeks with our little girl, Kylie Brett! Just like any mom would say about their children growing up, I wish time would slow down. These last 21 days have flown by, and I think the days go faster with your last baby. Knowing Kylie is the one who completes our family makes me want to really take in every little thing she does, and every little newborn detail.

Also, can we talk about the adorable quirks of a newborn? The little grunts, kicking legs + flailing arms, peach fuzz, that pouty bottom lip, and so much more that makes me wish the newborn phase lasted longer.

It’s possible I could be enjoying the newborn phase a little more this time around because of the sleep I am getting! Of course I am still not getting a full night’s rest, but it is so much better than I expected and I am so thankful!

At 19 days old, Kylie had her 2-week checkup and she is doing so well! Although nothing gave me a reason for concern, I had been curious if she had been getting enough milk and putting on enough weight. It is hard to tell how much milk a breastfed baby is getting! But, her weight gain showed she is getting plenty! The pediatrician said they hope for babies to reach their birth weight by 2 weeks, so Kylie is doing well and has already exceeded her birth weight by quite a bit! With that being the case, I was given the “ok” to let her sleep for longer stretches at night!

During the day, Kylie sleeps SO much and is a very happy baby overall. I always knew she would be a sweetie! She is very attached to me, though, so sometimes she won’t let me do anything without her tagging along in her wrap that I wear her in, or being in my arms (where she is as I type this)! She would be what some people call “spoiled,” but I don’t believe in a baby being spoiled by being held! I wouldn’t trade her snuggles for the world.

I can’t believe in one week she will be one month old! Time, slow down. <3

Here are some moments from the past 3 weeks with K!
